Led by Coach Vince Dooley and freshman running back Herschel Walker, the 1980 Georgia football team went an undefeated 12-0 (6-0 SEC), including a 17-10 Sugar Bowl win over Notre Dame to secure the National Championship. The phrase “Unbeaten, Untied and Unbelievable” was the headline celebrating UGA’s iconic victory in the Atlanta Journal Newspaper the next morning.
